Tomato Sauce in the Airfryer: Easy and Preservative-Free


Make a delicious tomato sauce in the Airfryer, without preservatives and full of flavor. Easy, fast and perfect for your recipes




An Airfryer roasted tomato sauce, full of flavour and aroma, perfect for pasta, pizza or meat

Recipe for 2 people.

cup = 240 ml, tablespoon = 15 ml, teaspoon = 10 ml, teaspoon = 5 ml

Ingredients TOMATO SAUCE IN THE AIRFRYER:

– 4 large Italian tomatoes, whole

– 1/2 unit of chopped onion

– 3 cloves garlic, halved

– 2 tablespoons of olive oil

– salt to taste

– pepper to taste THE

– fresh herbs (thyme, parsley, chives, etc.) to taste

Ingredients TO COMPLETE:

– water to taste (boiling) (optional)

PREPARATION:

  1. Separate the ingredients and utensils for the recipe.
  2. Wash the tomatoes.
  3. Peel the onion and cut it into small pieces.
  4. Peel the garlic cloves and cut them in half lengthwise.
  5. Wash your favorite fresh herbs (use a single herb or a mix).
  6. Preheat the Airfryer to 180°C.
  7. Put the water to boil in a kettle.

PREPARATION:

Tomato Sauce – Cooking in the Airfryer:

  1. Place the whole tomatoes in the Airfryer basket and arrange the chopped onion, garlic cloves and herbs between them, leaving space between them to allow air to circulate.
  2. Season with salt and pepper and drizzle with olive oil.
  3. Place the basket in the Airfryer preheated to 180°C.
  4. Cook for 20-25 minutes or until vegetables are cooked (time may vary depending on the power of your Airfryer).

Tomato Sauce – Blend:

  1. Remove the vegetables from the Airfryer and transfer them to a food processor or blender.
  2. Blend until you get a slightly rustic sauce. If you want a more liquid sauce, add a little boiling water.
  3. Tip: for freezing, it is recommended to leave it thicker and add water when using, diluting the sauce as necessary.
  4. For a smoother sauce, pass it through a sieve (optional).
  5. Adjust the salt if necessary.

FINALIZATION AND ASSEMBLY:

  1. If you don’t plan on using it tomato sauce prepared in the airfryer immediately, reheat before serving.
  2. Store the sauce in airtight containers and keep for up to 5 days in the refrigerator or freeze for future use.
