The Maldives is a dream come true for many travelers. The archipelago knows how to surprise, because none of the 26 atolls is like the others. Today we propose to take a closer look at the Ari Atoll – more precisely its part, also known as North Ari or Alif Alif.
Ari is an atoll atypical in all respects, even if we approach it with the standards of Maldivian exoticism. Firstly, it is quite far from the airports of Male and Velana; the journey by speedboat will take about an hour and a half, by seaplane – almost half an hour. Secondly, this territory has been inhabited since ancient times; archaeologists have found priceless artifacts from the period of Maldivian Buddhism on Ari. Thirdly, the local biodiversity amazes even experts in ocean fauna. And fourthly, the islands that make up the atoll are quite large, which dictates new rules and opportunities for recreation and impressions.
Kuramati is the largest of the six islands in the northeastern Ari. Its length is 2 km, so it even uses its own shuttle to move around the island. Here is Kuramathi Island Resort, one of the oldest eco-resorts in the archipelago. And if you are afraid that you will get bored on the Maldives island, going up and down, Kuramati, which does not look like a hotel, but like a resort town, breaks this stereotype, because there is entertainment and healthy activities here for every taste and age. But first of all…
