On September 29, starting at 10:00, Cantareira Norte Shopping will host the 1st Chess Festival, in an unprecedented event for development.
The championship will bring together players registered with the Brazilian Chess Confederation (CBX) and will allow board game lovers to compete for prizes, such as trophies and medals.
The tournament will be played using the Swiss system, i.e. up to seven rounds, and using the Swiss Manager software. The game tempo will be 12 minutes with three seconds added per move, and the tournament will be valid for FIDE and CBX ratings in fast mode.
Participants will also compete for cash prizes, with a maximum value of R$ 1,500, distributed among the top eight finishers. The champion will receive R$ 300, the second-place finisher R$ 250, and the third-place finisher R$ 200. There will also be special prizes for the best player and the female player with a FIDE rating below 1800, both worth R$ 100.
