Sweet coconut bread

Time: 2 hours (+30 minutes rest)

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablets of organic yeast (45g)
  • 1 dessert spoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup (tea) sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of margarine
  • 2 cups of warm milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 5 cups (tea) of wheat flour
  • 1 egg yolk for brushing

Filling:

  • 1 can of condensed milk

Preparation method:

  1. In a bowl, place the yeast, salt, sugar and mix well until a liquid forms.
  2. Add the margarine, egg, milk, vanilla and mix well.
  3. Add the flour little by little until it no longer sticks to your hands as you knead.
  4. Work the dough well and then let it rise for 20 minutes or until it doubles in volume.
  5. Roll out the dough and distribute the mixed filling ingredients.
  6. Roll up like a jelly roll and cut in half.
  7. Arrange on a baking tray, next to each other, leaving space between them.
  8. Brush with egg yolk and leave to rise for 10 minutes.
  9. Bake in a preheated medium oven for 25 minutes or until cooked through and golden.
  10. Remove from oven and serve immediately.
