3 Types of Courage to Achieve Professional Success

Developing courage is essential for professional success. Learn to have the courage to leave the good for the good and do something different.

To achieve professional success, it is essential to develop yourself 3 Types of Courage that can transform your trajectory. These three types of courage are part of my Turbocharged Professional Transition methodology.

Let’s explore this concept together?

What are the types of courage?

1. Courage to see the truth

The first kind of courage is the courage to see the truth. It turns out that most people live in an illusion and don’t want to get out of it. If you’re here in this article, you’re probably not one of those people, ugh.

The few people who have the courage to see the truth, to see things as they really are, are innovative people and pioneers in their fields.

The courage to see the truth may show us something difficult, but it shows us the real, what we can transform, change and do something with, unlike illusion.

Once you see the truth, it is impossible not to see it. And then you have to do something with the information you have received. This is where a transition in life, in career, in profession, in trajectory often comes into play.

These are turning points in the lives of those who have the courage to see:

  • when you see the truth about the company’s values where you work, that are misaligned with yours.
  • when you see the truth you are not living your purpose.
  • When you see the truth of the life you are leading It’s not exactly the life you want to lead..

2. Courage to leave the good for the great

The second type of courage is one of the most difficult, that is, to abandon the good for the great. Change, for most human beings, is a difficult process, involving losses and resistance.

Going from something bad to something good, which should be easy and obvious, doesn’t always happen that way. How many times have you found yourself in a half-hearted relationship with the fear of ending it?

Well, even though it is a bad situation, it is usually not easy, as our mind finds excuses to keep us in what is familiar, I am sure you have been there or seen someone else go through it.

Now imagine when what you have is not bad, in fact, it is good… It is not great yet, but it is good. This resistance increases. And when we share this desire with others, we feel things like:

  • “Wow, but are you going to leave the position that everyone dreams of having?”
  • “Wow, but are you going to leave this apartment in this nice neighborhood?”

Well, it’s not bad, there is no such explicit justification for the change. At this time it takes even more courage to say”I’m going because I want more“.

Leaving a situation because it’s bad usually gets sympathy from other people: “Wow, that’s okay, that’s terrible, he really needs to get out!”

But when it goes well, when it goes well, you have to MAKE your decisions based on your will.

When there is something great waiting for you out there, you need that courage to let go of the good and move towards the great.

People who develop this courage also tend to develop the ability to stand up for their own wants and desires, and to let go of the need for approval and fear of judgment.

3. Courage to do things differently

The third courage takes this ability to indulge one’s own desires and cravings, and releases a little of the need for approval and the fear of judgment; ultimately, it is the courage to do things differently.

  • The Transpersonal Psychology approach would not exist if Maslow had not had the courage to do things differently.
  • Cars as we know them today would not exist if Karl Benz had not had the courage to do things differently.
  • Psychoanalysis would not exist if Freud and Jung had not done differently.

However, it is common for our various actions to be met with resistance and skepticism from the other side. “Eh, but traveling by carriage and horse works, why does this Benz need to invent vehicles? It’s useless! It’s nonsense! It’s a waste of time!”

The greatest enemy of the courage to do things differently is complacency in keeping things the way they have always been. The person who develops this courage usually has a leadership spirit within him and can see what is missing and needs to be created or what can be improved.

Understanding the Risk of Courage for Professional Success

Knowing how to take risks is essential to achieving success in any field, and all this courage obviously involves some kind of risk, but it does not have to be uncontrolled, it can be reflected and well thought out.

However, excessive caution can show a fear of taking risks, so remember that at some point it will be necessary to make this decision and, to do so, give yourself a period of time to reflect, consider and make your decision with courage and faith. .in yourself and in the invisible.

It is very difficult to take risks when we think we are alone. Your faith in something greater will help you in this moment.

Developing these 3 types of courage – seeing the truth, exchanging good for good, and doing things differently – is essential for anyone who wants to achieve professional success. With these tools, you will be ready to face challenges and grow in your career.

Tell me, which vorg have you developed better already? And which one needs further development?
