  2. Remove the meat from the refrigerator so that it reaches room temperature.
  3. Separate the ingredients and utensils for the recipe. This recipe makes 3 mini burgers per person.
  4. Wash the lettuce and tomatoes (optional) and soak the vegetable leaves in a sodium hypochlorite solution.

PREPARATION:

Homemade mini hamburger in the Airfryer – Prepare and shape:

  1. In a bowl, mix the meat and fat from the ground/minced meat and bacon until smooth.
  2. Divide the meat into portions: 3 mini burgers per person (60 g each).
  3. You can shape the burgers in 2 ways: A) Form each portion into a ball, and toss it 4 times from one hand to the other, with force, to compact the meat. Place each ball between two layers of plastic wrap and knead to open to desired thickness or B) Line a hamburger form or mounting ring with cling film, place a portion of meat and press to compact.
  4. Modeling tip: The ideal thickness is between 1.5 and 2 cm, to prevent them from drying out.
  5. Place the burgers on a plate or baking tray and place them in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes to firm up. This helps the burgers hold their shape while cooking.
  6. Preheat the Airfryer to 200ºC.

Homemade mini burger – cooked in the Airfryer:

  1. If using butter, place it in a non-metallic bowl and place it in the microwave to melt.
  2. Remove the mini burgers from the refrigerator.
  3. Brush both sides with olive oil or melted butter.
  4. Arrange the mini burgers in the Airfryer basket, without overlapping them, leaving a small distance between them to allow the air to circulate – depending on the quantity and size of the basket, cook them in stages.
  5. Place the basket in the drawer and insert it into the appliance preheated to 200ºC.
  6. Close the drawer and cook for about 10 minutes to obtain a medium cooking of the meat. If you prefer your burgers rare, reduce the time to 8 minutes. For well-done cooking, leave for up to 12 minutes: the times depend on the power of your fryer.
  7. With 2 minutes remaining before the estimated cooking time (based on desired doneness of the meat), open the drawer, flip the mini burgers and arrange the cheese (optional) on top.
  8. Continue cooking until the cheese melts.
  9. Remove from Airfryer.

Assembly – Mini Burger:

  1. Assemble the sandwiches immediately.
  2. Cut the buns in half and place a mini burger on the bottom of each.
  3. Arrange a slice of tomato and ½ of lettuce (optional) on top. Season with a pinch of salt.
  4. Tip: Add sauces of your choice, such as homemade mayonnaise, ketchup or mustard.
  5. Close the sandwich with the other half of the bread.
