Traditional Kibbeh
Time: 1h (+5h soaking) (+40min in the fridge)
Performance: 50 units
Difficulty: easy
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of wheat for the kibbeh
- 1 onion chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped mint
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Frying oil
Filling
- 200 g of minced meat
- 1/2 onion grated
- 1 teaspoon of wheat flour
Preparation method:
- Place the wheat in a bowl, cover with warm water and leave to macerate for 5 hours.
- In a strainer, squeeze it with your hands to eliminate excess liquid.
- Place it in a bowl, add the minced meat, onion, mint, salt and pepper, mixing until you obtain a smooth mixture.
- For the filling, brown the minced meat, onion, salt and pepper in a pan over medium heat.
- Sprinkle the flour and mix.
- Fry for another 2 minutes. Let it cool.
- Open small portions of dough between your hands, place a little filling in the center and close to form kibbehs.
- Store in the refrigerator for 40 minutes.
- Drain them and fry them, little by little, in boiling oil until golden.
- Drain on absorbent paper and serve.
