Artichoke leg

Time: 2 hours

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 5 pre-cooked artichoke hearts
  • 1 sachet of chicken broth powder
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 2 cups milk (tea)
  • 2 cups (tea) of wheat flour
  • 2 cups (tea) breadcrumbs
  • Salt, black pepper and nutmeg to taste
  • Hot oil for frying

Filling:

  • 2 cups chopped cooked chicken
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 peeled and seeded tomato, cut into small pieces
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Preparation method:

  1. In a pan, add the oil, the onion and fry for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the chopped artichokes, salt, pepper, nutmeg, chicken broth and brown for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the parsley, milk and bring to the boil.
  4. Add the wheat flour all at once, stirring until cooked and coming away from the bottom of the pan.
  5. Place on a smooth, dry surface and leave to cool.
  6. In a pan, mix the filling ingredients and brown.
  7. Roll out the dough into circles, fill them and close them into stick shapes.
  8. Dip them in the egg and breadcrumbs and fry them in boiling oil until golden.
