In the case of Isabelle and Matteus, they were the “lucky” ones at the time. Without specifying how long it took for the power to return, Cunhã Poranga do Boi Garantido said that a pregnant woman was also with them.

Matteus spoke about how difficult it was to reach the top of the 312 meter high Eiffel Tower: “We were climbing to reach the top of the tower and the power went out. There was a blackout, imagine how bad it was! The girl said that in the 130 years of life of the tower nothing has ever happened. We could stay trapped for five to an hour.”

“It’s heartbreaking to be stuck in that little elevator… It had a railing and it said it would take 5 minutes to an hour. We’re at the top of the peak. Look! I feel like I’m at sea. It’s scary”Isabelle said once she reached the top of the tower.
