Steak with carrot crumble

Ingredients:

  • 4 sirloin steaks (approximately 600 g)
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon fine herbs
  • 3/4 cup mustard
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 tablespoons of oil

Farofa

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 seedless tomatoes chopped
  • 1 cup chopped green olives
  • 1 cup and 1/2 cup (tea) cornmeal
  • 2 eggs, boiled and chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup chopped green chili pepper

Preparation method:

  1. Season the steaks with garlic, herbs, mustard and salt.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat the oil and fry the steaks on both sides for 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Reserve on a plate.
  3. For the farofa, in the same pan in which you fried the steaks, melt the butter with the olive oil, brown the onion, carrot, tomatoes and olives.
  4. Add flour, eggs, salt and green chillies.
  5. Mix well and serve immediately with the steaks.
