Regular consumption of milk is important for good health, that is, it is a drink rich in calcium and strengthens bones. In this sense, science, through a study published by the National Library of Medicine, has revealed that milk proteins do not influence inflammation.
The relationship between milk proteins and inflammation
This meta-analysis study reinforced the fact that the impacts of this protein on inflammation are uncertain. Therefore, they evaluated the effects of whey protein, casein protein, or supplementation on serum levels of cytokines and adipokines in adults.
The meta-analysis included 53 randomized clinical trials and said the supplements had no substantial effects on serum values of C-reactive protein, tumor necrosis factor alpha, adiponectin and leptin.
What occurred were statistically significant reductions in serum interleukin-6 levels after milk protein supplementation in the intervention group compared to the control portion. It’s new work, with an old theme and with the intention of putting an end to the myths about milk and inflammation.
