Back to school: how to adapt your mind to the routine with the end of the holidays
Time has flown by, hasn’t it? In the blink of an eye the holidays are gone, along with the month. Let’s be honest, going on a break is super easy, but getting back into the grind… that’s another story. Taking into account the habits of our body, it is more complicated to adapt to the study routine.
During the holiday period, it is normal to wake up and sleep later, so the thousands of neurons receive different information about the body’s routines, such as different schedules and relaxed eating habits. Another aspect that has an influence is the presence of light in the environment at times when you would normally sleep.
To get back to school with it all, we’ve put together some tips to help you adjust. Check:
- Try going to bed an hour earlier than expected;
- Avoid coffee or stimulants after 5pm;
- Don’t overdo nighttime meals;
- Avoid physical activity after 9pm;
- Disconnect from the TV, computer and cell phone earlier than usual;
- Progressively resume studies and activities. Start with lighter, simpler activities. Valuable breaks and meal times.
- Don’t force yourself to spend many hours focusing on one thing. This way, your mind will have a better chance of adapting.
