Dutch tomato instead of bread to enjoy a low carb burger: creative and healthy
A burger without a bun, with a delicious basil sauce.

cup = 240 ml, spoon = 15 ml, teaspoon = 10 ml, teaspoon = 5 ml
Ingredients Stuffed Tomatoes
– 8 units of Dutch cherry tomatoes or other medium cherry tomatoes proportional to the size of the burger
– 280 g minced rib steak
– 120 g of bacon
– 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
– sea salt to taste (or pink salt) w
– pepper to taste w
Ingredients for pesto
– 24 large basil leaves
– 2 cloves of garlic
– 2 tablespoons of flaked almonds
– 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
– sea salt to taste (or pink salt) w
– pepper to taste w
– 2 tablespoons of water
Finishing ingredients
– 1 cup(s) alfalfa sprouts (optional)
PREPARATION:
1. Separate all the ingredients and utensils for the recipe.
2. Clean, chop and cut the ingredients.
3. Work the steak with the bacon and season with salt and pepper.
4. Cut the tomatoes in half crosswise and remove the seeds from both sides.
PREPARATION:
Burgers:
1. Divide the meat into 50g portions and form mini-burgers.
2. Heat a grill or non-stick pan and drizzle with 2 drizzles of olive oil.
3. Place the burgers and grill them for 2 to 3 minutes on each side.
4. Remove from the grill and set aside.
Pesto sauce:
1. Blend, in the blender or with a blender, the basil, garlic, olive oil, almonds, salt and pepper.
2. If it is too thick, add a little water and continue whisking until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous sauce.
3. Set aside.
FINALIZATION AND ASSEMBLY:
1. Arrange the tomato bases on a serving plate or, if you prefer, distribute 2 on each plate.
2. Place a mini hamburger on top of each.
3. Season the mini burgers with the pesto sauce.
4. Spread some alfalfa sprouts on top (optional).
5. Finish by placing the tomato lids.
