The goal is not to lose doses that are about to win; Municipalities not yet expected can also receive the immunner
THE Ministry of Health On Friday 14, a technical note was issued for all states and the Federal District to update the recommendation for the use of the vaccine against the Dengue and allow the expansion of the target audience of this immunner, as well as to move to new municipalities, on a Temporary base, doses whose expiration date is about to expire.
The purpose of the ministry is to ensure that all acquired immunizers are used, expanding protection against the disease.
The doses that win in two months can be transferred to municipalities not yet contemplated by the vaccination of the Dengue or be applied in the expanded age, including people from 6 to 16 years.
The doses of vaccine that will win in a month can be applied to people from 4 to 59 years, 11 months and 29 days, the age limit specified in the vaccine flyer.
According to the Ministry, the expansion of the target audience should consider the availability of doses and the epidemiological situation of every state and common. The wallet must be duly informed by the federative units on the implementation of the temporary strategy to expand vaccination. In addition, all the doses applied must be recorded in the national health database network, in order to guarantee the second dose and the complete monitoring of the immunization process.

In 2024, the Ministry of Health sent 6.5 million doses to states and municipalities, but only 3.8 million were applied. The situation is particularly worrying for teenagers: about 1.3 million young people who started the vaccination scheme did not return to the second dose, compromising the effectiveness of immunization.
Given the situation, the folder recommends that states and municipalities intensify active research strategies, identifying and mobilizing those who have not yet completed the vaccination scheme.
In 2024, the vaccine against the Dengue was incorporated into the Sus for the public 10-14 years which resides in priority offices, according to the criteria defined by the epidemiological scenario of the disease and decision of tripartite intergenerating committee.
Brazil was the first country in the world to offer the immunner in the universal public health system. Vaccination in the country began in February 2024 in 315 municipalities and, since then, it has been expanded, currently reaching 1,921 municipalities.
