The architects explain what energies this material leads to the rooms and indicate when to use it
More than a material that transmits comfort and naturalness, the wood transports a special meaning within the Feng Shui. According to this Chinese ancestral wisdom, it symbolizes vital impulse, renewal and growth. If strategically inserted in the environments, this element can stimulate important transformations, strengthening aspects such as motivation, inner balance and career progress.
How does Madeira help to balance the Feng Shui environments?
Architects Belisa Mitsuse and Estefânia Gamez, experts in Feng Shui And the members of Btliê’s architecture explain this ancestral methodology promotes harmony between the people and spaces they live in, integrating architecture with the cycles of nature.
“This connection takes place by applying the five elements – wood, fire, earth, metal and water – which represent different aspects of life and are present both in environments and our emotions and behaviors”, explains Belisa Mitsuse.
According to the architect, when these elements are distributed in a balanced way in a project, they create healthier energy flows and favor sensations such as welcome, vitality, concentration or tranquility. “Therefore, Feng Shui transforms architecture into an instrument of well -being, respecting the essence of the spaces and the individuality of the employment.”
For the architect Estefânia Gamez, when we understand Feng Shui as a tool, we can understand what every environment needs to issue to support those who live there. “In this sense, wood is the element of the ascending movement, of growth, of the renewal of life. Where there is stagnation, it is an invitation to move forward.”

How to use wood in the decoration?
According to Feng Shui, the use of wood is recommended in environments, for example in spaces related to projects and new ideas such as offspringStudy areas or rooms of children and adolescents. “Madeira helps to remove projects out of paper, favors creativity and the sensation of progress,” says architect Estefânia Gamez.
To activate this energy, it does not necessarily need a great reform. It is possible to use wood through furniture, objects, ruined panels, natural plots and even the choice of colors. “In Feng Shui, the green color and cylindrical formats also represent the wood. Just like plants, which are their living manifestation in environments,” explains the architect.
In a practical way, it is possible to integrate the wood with the interior design with minor interventions: a shelf of shelter, a series of natural back chairs, foliage, floral backgrounds, healthy plants, sculptures or even coatings with woody consistency. However, it is interesting to note that the best way to include wood – or any other element – in an interior architecture and design project is with the support of a Feng Shui consultancy.
“It is not a question of filling the house of heavy furniture, but of bringing it intentionally renewal and vitality for space. It is like planting a seed on fertile ground: create conditions for expansion “, concludes Belisa Mitsuse.
