“Tadalafila, developed for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, is the name of the active substance. Cialis is only one of the commercial names of Tadalafil, just as Viagra is the commercial name of Sildenafil. That is, there is no difference between Tadalafil and Cialis in terms of composition”, explains the Uraologist.

According to Meyer, there is no specific age for the indication of Tadalafil, but medicine is recommended for men with a certain degree of sexual impotence. “Tadalafila belongs to the group of phosphodiesterase inhibitors 5, which acts by promoting vasodilation, especially in the cavernous bodies of the penis – the structures responsible for the entry of the blood that leads to the erection,” he says.

How to use medicine

An important feature of Tadalafil is that it can be used in two ways: daily or on request. According to the urologist, the version for daily use is administered at a lower dose, usually 5 mg, and provides not only an improvement in the sexual question, but also of urinary symptoms, as it promotes the relaxation of the prostate muscles.

“Therefore, it is widely used in urological practice for patients with symptoms of increased benign prostate – such as the weak urinary jet, difficulty in urinating or need to raise at night – and at the same time we have a certain degree of erectile dysfunction. Therefore, instead of using a prostate drug and one for erection, we use daily Tadalafing.”

Tadalafil in the 20 mg dosage is used on request, that is, occasionally taken when the patient will have sex. “About two hours earlier, he takes 20 mg of Tadalafila, and then, like viagra, he must have a sexual stimulus. It does not need to escape and waiting to have an erection. You must have a sexual stimulus so that there is the trigger for this drug to have an effect,” says Fernando Meyer.

Risks

Patients with certain heart conditions should avoid using the drug. “It is necessary to pay attention to patients who have cardiological problems, patients who cannot make an important physical effort because the sexual act requires physical effort,” warns the urologist.

These drugs should not be used nor to improve sexual performance, nor in a recreational way, much less, as many have used, in gyms, in order to improve physical performance. This, according to experts, has no scientific discoveries and is totally contraindicated.
