Although it is not an isolated “medicine”, nutritionists and doctors say that vegetables can be an important ally in the treatment and prevention of some types of disease, especially if associated with a balanced diet.

“Yes, broccoli can be an ally in the fight against anemia, especially when other foods rich in iron are combined, although it is not the main source of this mineral”, explains the nutrologist Dr. Durval Ribas Filho, president of Brazilian Nutrology Association (Abran).
