Work is a collective experimentation with active participation […]
For the first time, the Colombian artist Iván Argote will speak to the public of his interactive work “The other, I and the others”, in the free gap of the MASP.
In this edition of Masp conversationsThe artist will join the curatorial assistant of the museum, Matheus de Andrade, to discuss research and conception processes, as well as proposing work activation.
The conversation will also face the symbolic dimension of the free gap such as Civic Square and Meeting Space-A Fundamental Principle in the architectural project of Lina Bo Bardi (1914-1992), author of the building that now bears its name.
Masp work
Argote’s work transforms the place into a space for collective experimentation and active participation, such as this installation made up of two mobile platforms that work as large swings, relying on the movement of visitors.
Through this interactive work, the Colombian proposes a metaphor on the relationship between individual and society, revealing how collective actions are able to generate balance, instability or transformation.
By combining playfulness and social criticism, the artist invites the public to rethink their interactions in public and community spaces.
