This Thursday (5), the creation of the Institute of Intelligent Technological Medicine (Itmi-Brazil)During the event in USP Medicine SchoolIn San Paolo. The project provides for the construction of the first intelligent public hospital in the country, which will operate inside the Das CLínicaS Complex hospital and will serve the Unified Health System (Sus).
The initiative is the result of a partnership between the Federal Government, the State Government of San Paolo and USP, with the support of the Novo Development Bank (NDB), linked to Brics. “Today we took another step to implement the technological institute of intelligent medicine here in Brazil. The hospital will integrate advanced resources such as artificial intelligence, Big dataInternet of Things, Telehealth, 5G Connected Ambulances and Automation Hospital. The goal is to reduce waiting times in case of emergency, offer faster diagnoses and expand the Sus efficiency.

Investment and deadline for completion
The project must have an investment of 320 million dollars from NDB. The hospital should be completed by the end of 2027, three years after the approval of the loan. “We are finishing an important phase today, which is the end of the visit of the Brics Development Bank, which is willing to receive this project and analyze the loan. We will follow the discussion on the project closely and we foresee the approval as soon as possible. The entire budget of the Ministry of Health is already organized to host the loan, if approved and be able to start the project.”Reinforced Padilha.
Us and intelligent innovation
While the hospital is built, the Ministry of Health Plans to implement 10 ICU Intelligent ICU in Brazilian capital, digitally connected to the USP DAS CLínicas hospital. These units will have artificial intelligence systems capable of providing risks, such as episodes of hypotension or sepsis, and helping doctors in the critical decision -making process in real time.
In addition to treatments, ITMI will also be a center for innovation and training. Attention will be paid to sectors such as digital health, clinical engineering and IT security. The proposal also includes the construction of a green hospital, in line with the global climatic program.
