“If a teenager has symptoms of varicose veins, such as pain, swelling, feeling of weight or visible news, it is advisable to ask for a doctor. The first varicose veins can indicate a genetic predisposition or other factors that deserve attention”, warns Camila.

How to treat and prevent varicose veins in adolescence?

To treat and prevent varicose veins in adolescence, it is important to adopt measures that promote vascular health, highlights the expert, which gives some suggestions:

  • Avoid long periods standing or sitting;
  • Wear adequate clothes (i.e. avoid tight clothes, especially around life and legs);
  • Keep the weight adequate.

“The procedures for the treatment of varicose veins in adolescence are rare, but when indicated, they can include the use of compression socks, minimally invasive procedures such as laser and applications and, ultimately, surgery. The follow -up medical is essential to determine the best approach”, says the professional.
