This is because, this Jambalaya, is a typical dish from New Orleans, a city in the state of Louisiana, in the United States and has a yield of up to three kilos!

In short, Jambalaya is consisting of chicken, pepperoni sausage and spices such as sage and thyme. So, here’s how to make this recipe for Father’s Day lunch:

Jambalaya recipe:

Preparation time: 1 hour

Performance: 3 kilos

Difficulty: easy

ingredients:

  • 1 liter of chicken broth
  • ½ kilo of chicken breast
  • 130 ml of olive oil
  • 250 grams of Calabrian sausage
  • 250 grams of cooked ham
  • 100 grams of chopped onion
  • 30 grams of celery
  • 20 grams of green chives
  • 3 crushed garlic cloves
  • 1 red pepper
  • 2 grams of cayenne pepper
  • 1 gram of thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 sprig of sage
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Method of preparation:

In a skillet, boil the chicken stock along with the chicken until cooked. When cooked, remove the chicken from the pan and set the stock aside. Allow to cool and cut the chicken into cubes. Then, use a large skillet to sauté the sausage and ham until golden brown. Remove the meat and set aside.

In the same pan, fry the onion and celery and, little by little, add the chives, garlic, chilli, leaving everything well fried. Then add the cayenne pepper, bay leaf, thyme and sage, add ½ liter of chicken broth and bring to the boil. Then add the rice, lower the heat, cover and let it cook. When it is well cooked, uncover the pan, add the meat, check the rice and if necessary add more broth. If ready, mix a little and serve.
