Having a good architectural and interior design to avoid waste is one of the tips chosen by the architect Thaís Ruiz

Nobody doubts that sustainability is an issue that is getting closer and closer to people’s daily lives.
Allocating recyclable materials to cooperatives, reducing packaging consumption, consuming by companies committed to the environment and having some kind of reverse logistics are already common attitudes for many people.

But what about when build and renovate? Have you ever stopped to think that these practices should also be designed for these moments? Civil construction is a sector that generates significant socio-environmental impacts and, therefore, it is so important to reflect and structure the ways to reduce this damage.
To help you know how to make your work more sustainable, take a look at the tips from architect Thais Ruiz.
Proper waste disposal

According to Thais, the first point to consider when it comes to reform is the waste disposal. “In addition to worrying about renting a bucket, you need to certify the company, so that there is no irregular disposal of the materials,” he explains.
Donate what is in good condition

It is very common in works to exchange some objects that are in good condition, such as taps, for example, either for aesthetic reasons or even to not harmonize with the new furniture proposed.
“In such cases it is advisable to donate this material, to avoid it being treated as garbage. Look for companies that remove and that can help people who need the material,” recommends Thais.
Good architecture and interior design
Sustainability starts with a good architecture and interior design. It is he who can help avoid wasting building materials and even reduce energy consumption.
“With the correct implementation it is possible to create cross ventilation and insolation to have thermal efficiency in the building, eliminating, for example, the use of air conditioning in all seasons of the year, or we use natural resources for comfort”, he teaches.
