Grazi Massafera: from girl to villain, the evolution of an actress

With a diverse career, her versatility confirms the actress’s talent in television drama

With undeniable talent, we remember the trajectory of the most loved former BBB in Brazilian television fiction

Since Grazi Massafera appeared as one of the participants in the Big Brother Brazilin 2005, the country was able to experience some of its natural charisma, its authenticity and its extraordinary beauty. A journalism student at the time, it didn’t take long for the public to be enchanted by her style – which earned her 2nd place in the program – and, later, by all her talent as an actress.

First steps at Globo

Shortly after the end of the reality show, Grazi signed a contract with TV Globo. He began studying acting and quickly began taking roles on network soap operas. His series debut was as Thelminha, in Pages of life (2006), a young dreamer who falls in love with Jorge (Thiago Lacerda). From that moment on, she lived several characters on TV: Lívia, in Forbidden Desire (2007-2008), sweet and determined teacher; Deodorizes inside Chinese affairs (2008-2009), first character with some evil traits; Lucena, in That kiss (2011-2012), a model trying to recover from a frustrated marriage; and Maria da Penha, in Caribbean flower (2013), a warrior woman who has experienced family dramas, a role with great appeal among the public.

Watershed

But it was in 2015 that Grazi Massafera saw her acting career reach another level. She brought Larissa to life, in the iconic Secret truthsa model who goes into decline after being involved in the world of drugs and prostitution, and sees her life sinking with each passing day. This character of the actress caused a stir among viewers and was a way to show how glamor often hides cruel consequences. The importance of the role was such that it earned the actress a nomination for that year’s International Emmy.

Important representations

Subsequently Grazi covered another role in a delicate social context, but important to represent. Luciana, inside The Law of Love (2016-2017), was a former call girl who gets married as a way to escape the reality she lives in. Even though it was initially a relationship of interest, the character proves to be a loyal and very courageous woman. And speaking of a feisty woman, Good success (2019-2020), the artist gave life to Paloma, a seamstress who, due to a medical error, believes she has little time to live and decides to make the most of it.

The first big bad!

Now, in 2025, Grazi Massafera has debuted his first declared villain in a soap opera. This is Arminda, in Three Thankswith a screenplay by Aguinaldo Silva. Arminda is a rich, false and manipulative woman involved in a vast corruption scheme at the Ferette pharmaceutical company, where she also keeps her lover, Ferette (Murilo Benício). At the center of the story, the villain hides a statue in her villa with the image of three women, the three Graces. Rivers of money from illegal negotiations accumulate, or rather, hide.

Brazil is curious to know how this criminal plot will develop. And, above all, it will be Grazi’s journey as the antagonist of a story that promises to give something to talk about. We already know he’s talented, right? Now it remains to follow the journey of the actress who went from girl to villain without losing her class.
