Part of our families, the Pets they also deserve attention when it comes to home design. Therefore, there is a growing trend in interior design and architecture for high quality designer products aimed at our pets.

This is the case of the little house that uses the same technology as cars reduce external noise and a kennel in handcrafted geodesic cherry wood designed by the architecture firm Foster + Partners. Dog Pod, by RSHP and Mark Gorton

Architectural firms Mark Gorton and RSHP have created a “space age” home inspired by Star Wars spaceships. The house has a hexagonal and tubular shape and is supported by adjustable feet that lift it slightly off the ground.

The raised frame of the design allows airflow to cool the home on hot days and keep the interior warm on cold days.

Bonehenge, by Birds Portchmouth Russum Architects

The Bonehenge is an oval-shaped house with columns designed to look like bones.

Designed by Birds Portchmouth Russum Architects, the cottage is inspired by the stones of the ancient henges and was built with Accoya wood. It has an oval skylight and also a wooden roof with a rim that directs rainwater into a spout, ensuring the interior stays dry in any weather.

Dome-Home, by Foster + Partners

British architecture firm Foster + Partners has designed a hand-built geodesic wooden cottage by British furniture manufacturer Benchmark.

The exterior is made of cherry woodwhile the interior is padded with a removable fabric that takes up the theme of the geometry of the tessellation.

The Dog Room, by Made by Pen and Michael Ong

Architect Michael Ong and Australian design brand Made by Pen have created a miniature wooden house for dogs. The design of the house is simple and is based on a child’s drawing of a house.

It is equipped with a black painted aluminum frame, while the front is half open and half covered with a wooden panel. There are also two circular windows at the rear, permitting air flow and views for the owner and pet.

Ford kennel for noise reduction

Carmaker Ford created the noise-canceling kennel in an effort to protect dogs from loud noises from fireworks, which is the most common source of anxiety in dogs.

The house is equipped with the technology used in the Ford Edge SUV to mask engine noise. Its microphones pick up high levels of noise outside, while the house sends opposite signals through an audio system.

Sound waves are designed to cancel each other out, reducing noise. The Ford design is also crafted with a high-density cork coating for additional soundproofing.

Heads or tails, by Nendo

A kennel and a range of transformable accessories are included in this project by the Japanese design studio Nendo. The Heads or Tails collection includes a doghouse, toys and tableware.

The bed is made of faux leather and extends into a small hut or can simply be used as a pillow.

Klaffer, by Nils Holger Moorman

The Kläffer project, by the German furniture manufacturer Nils Holger Moormann, is a dog version of human beds of the brand, made of European birch plywood.

The bed is made up of metal-free parts designed to be easily assembled together, making the product portable.
