It is there in the intestine that we have different types of bacteria which are essential for the proper functioning of our body. When there is an imbalance between good bacteria, called dysbiosis, a cycle of proliferation of pathogenic bacteria begins, responsible for numerous unfavorable conditions.
Changes in the gut, if not treated properly, promote an increase in insulin, ghrelin (a hormone that stimulates appetite), fat storage, nutrient absorption, among others. And guess what: all of these images compromise the weight loss process.
That’s why I always tell my patients: Is losing weight the main goal? Take care of your health in an integrative way, giving priority to intestinal health!
