Dining room: tips to center the perfect composition of the environment

There are several elements at play when furnishing the dining room, such as the material, the shape and the arrangement of the furniture.

Dining room: tips to center the perfect composition of the environment

If a dining room could store everything that has already happened in the environment, then it would definitely record not just the menu served on special occasions, but also stories of encounters, laughter and many memories.

However, to be truly a “mother’s heart” and welcome everyone, this space must have a perfect protagonist: the ideal table. And that’s not just in terms of furniturebut also comfort and practicality.

Therefore, the architects Vanessa Paiva and Cláudia Passarini clarify the main doubts about the choice of this piece of furniture and show how to combine function and beauty to bring an environment full of charm into the home. Watch:

Dimensions of the dining room

“Without a doubt, the first point to analyze concerns the size of the room”, says Claudia about the design of the project. According to the architects, it is worth considering a distance of 80 cm, both between the table and the wall, and between the table and other furniture to ensure good circulation and not to leave the space too narrow. “However, when it is possible, it becomes even more comfortable when we can consider a distance of 1.20 m,” she adds.

The size of the dining room must be taken into account -

What is the best table format?

Among the possibilities, the rectangular one is preferred by residents who are setting up their own dining room, after all it is the one that most perfectly accommodates a large number of people. It is so sought after that it ends up dictating the market: most stores bet on displaying this model to fascinate the consumer.

But this does not mean that other formats have no escape, especially if the area available for furniture does not correspond to the long structure. “If the question is between a round or square table for a small space, the ride isno doubt, The best option“indicates Vanessa.

The circular model is advantageous because it has no corners and allows you to add more seating, be it a chair or even a stool. “To make the table much more functional, we can insert a revolving top, which facilitates the coming and going of the service”, suggests Claudia.

How to choose the finish

Architects suggest it natural materials like wood – which inspires intimacy and warmth – as well as stone and glass which are more “cool” but equally elegant. In addition to marking the drawing, these elements are excellent options in practical terms, as, with the right preparation, they do not run the risk of staining. And even if that happens, the restoration of solid wood or stone is very simple.

However, the same cannot be said of lacquer, which has premature wear. “It becomes practically inevitable to deal with some damage and to have to cover the surface with glass, a less than ideal finish, as it changes the original idea: the visualization of the plate., Says Vanessa.

When the top is made of glass, some points must be taken into account in order not to disturb the furniture. Cláudia explains that it is interesting to use the element throughout the structure, including the feet: a different material would end up attracting more attention to the underside than to the table itself. In addition, the mix of components can have a negative impact on the furniture. “Transparency is a good investment when it comes to bringing out what’s on the floor, like the floor or a carpet,” she recommends.

Harmonizing the environment

Certain solutions make the difference in the design of the dining room and, among the main ones, there are the table legs. It may seem like a small detail, but this aspect has everything to annoy you on a daily basis.

To avoid headaches, the duo of architects recommend investing in a centralized base, because it frees up more space for movement, even for the insertion of other seats as needed.

It is possible to combine pieces of different materials -

Aesthetics are certainly a major concern of residents, especially in terms of matching. In this regard, Vanessa points out that combining is not necessarily applying the same material or making a “set”. Indeed, this compatibility makes the atmosphere balanced.

“Even when we choose wood as a material for the table and chairs, we don’t necessarily have to follow the same tone. The well-thought-out counterpoint creates very interesting and modern looks,” says the architect.

To complete the atmosphere and bring that intimate warmth, lighting plays a very important role. While not “mandatory”, the pendant on the table adds a special glow to the room, but it is also functional, supporting the lighting design.

However, this highlight for the structure, which is always appreciated to enhance its beauty, must not derive from the pendants: the same effect is obtained with the use of a spotlight. The interesting thing is to find a way to highlight the whole work.
