A super soft dough, so much dulce de leche to spread and that unique touch of cinnamon … wet churros cake! This recipe is all good and lends itself very well as a dessert or afternoon snack accompanied by coffee.

By the way, churros is a dessert that has a long history, did you know that? Some say that Spanish shepherds, isolated in distant mountains, invented sweets to get around the lack of hot bread. On the other hand, there are stories that the recipe comes from Arab peoples, at the time of the invasion of the Iberian Peninsula!

One way or another, one thing is a fact: churros are very successful! And, currently, it is considered a typical recipe of Spain, where it is commonly consumed without filling during the afternoon coffee. Therefore, the way to enjoy it is not unique, and therefore we have the delicious moist churros cake! Do we try it? See the recipe:

Ingredients for the moist churros cake:

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups (tea) of sugar
  • 1/2 cup (tea) of oil
  • 1 cup (tea) of milk
  • 2 and 1/2 cups (tea) of wheat flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • Margarine and wheat flour for greasing
  • Powdered sugar and cinnamon for sprinkling

Syrup:

  • 1/2 cup (tea) of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of creamy dulce de leche
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar

Roof:

  • 1 1/2 cups (tea) of creamy dulce de leche
  • 1/2 cup (tea) of cream

Method of preparation:

In a blender, beat the eggs, sugar, oil and milk for 1 minute. Transfer to a bowl, add the flour, cinnamon, baking powder and mix with a spoon. Pour into a greased and floured medium English cake tin and place in a preheated medium oven (180ºC) for 30 minutes or until well cooked and lightly browned. Remove from the oven, allow to cool, remove from the mold and season with the mixed ingredients in syrup. Mix the ingredients for the glaze and spread on the cake. Then, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon mixed together and serve immediately.
