Isaac Silva brought to Komplexo Tempo this Sunday (20), Black Consciousness Day, a collection inspired by African roots, called Griôs. Isaac once again breaks the paradigm, given that a few months ago he came out as trans and is changing his name to Isa Isaac Silva. The first trans stylist to perform at SPFW.
“The word griô derives from the African oral tradition, used to designate masters who bring knowledge and practices of the culture, these transmitted orally. Traditionally, the griôs told the story of their people in the form of poems or songs,” he explained in the brand’s promotional material. On the catwalk only black models, including the presenter Manoel Soares.

“The stylists Marisa Moura and Mama are the Griôs who use fashion for their message, they are the basis of my inspiration in making fashion, for this reason the collection pays homage to two women, one Brazilian and the other African”, explains the stylist Isaac Silva. Both attended the parade.

The show began with a dance performance by the group BallRoom, with a performance by Felix Pimenta, with LGBTQIA+ dancers and also with the presentation of the so-called Brazilian Rihanna, a lookalike of the Barbadian singer.

The parade featured dresses, tunics, full skirts, many adorned with golden buccine. Lace and flounces on dresses paraded by people of all genders populated the catwalk, in shades of strong and burnt yellow, blue, pink, lilac and white.

All monochrome is comfortable. In the props, in addition to cowrie shells, turbans and nails with gilded pendant pendants.
