How to learn to be eco-responsible: 5 simple principles

We’ve started thinking more often about how we can take care of the world around us – and it’s wonderful. But even here the “airplane rule” applies: Put on a mask on yourself first. That is to say, the first thing to ask is the question: “Do you think enough of yourself?”. Tanya Kuchinskaya knows how to do it.

Do you remember your child? On a hot day you put your hand in a cold stream, and it enchanted you; you were incredibly happy if you could save on breakfast and buy ice cream; you froze, admiring the soap bubbles or listening to the echo in the empty hall or in the vault of the house. These simple things were new, unknown to you, and therefore amazed and delighted.

Unfortunately, the older we get, the less our thirst for knowledge of the world remains. And besides, the world itself is now organized in such a way that it is enough to reach out, make two clicks and you will find all the information. And if you don’t want to look for her, she will find you herself.

We spend so much time on social media that we start taking photoshopped photos of someone else’s life for cash and eventually drown out our inner voice, our uniqueness, we lose the ability to be happy just like that.

Judge for yourself: an endless stream of “ideal” bloggers, a continuous series of news, gossip at work, discussions of the same situations with friends – all this background simply does not give us the opportunity to stop for a minute, breathe out and think: “What do I want myself? We are included in the mass unconscious and try to live by someone else’s rules, everything simply by not giving ourselves the possibility to think: “What do we want ourselves?”.

Does it happen that when you wake up in the morning you think “Fuck it all”, or you don’t understand at all why it was worth waking up to? If so, try changing your attitude towards yourself to one that is more environmentally friendly and more cautious. What does it mean? Let me explain with an example.

You are where your attention is. Do you remember, for example, how you went to work in the morning? I am unlikely to be wrong if I assume that you did it automatically: you left the house, you got arrested, you got on a bus or a subway train… Do you remember what happened there, on the way? Probably not. But, maybe, the guy of your dreams was sitting next to you (but you didn’t see him, because you didn’t take your eyes off the smartphone screen). Ok man – do you even remember what the world was like around you this morning? Unfortunately, not like the rest of us. You didn’t live that road, you didn’t flirt with an attractive neighbor, you didn’t notice how clean the yard was, you didn’t hear the birds chirping, you missed it all.

And imagine it continuing day after day. We are not living our own life, but from the moment of awakening we are immersed in someone else’s. And when we remember ours, we try to live it in the past. For the hundredth time, we remember the intrigues of a colleague, we lead an endless internal dialogue with him, we scroll through all our failures in the head, wondering each time what was worth do or what to say at this precise moment. But he, this moment, is already gone, the past cannot be returned. And we miss the present.

What should I do with this? Fortunately, there is a very simple recipe.

So, in one day, about 60,000 thoughts arise in your head. So that you don’t drown and miss your own life, try applying 5 simple principles as you begin to follow the usual script.

1. The reason is in me, I created everything. Why did I create this?

When you ask yourself this question, you take the position of the creator of your own life. Do you answer – what did it give you? What lesson did you learn? After all, until you pass it, it will constantly come back in different interpretations.

2. Why is it good for me?

The answer will come by itself exactly when you ask yourself this question.

3. What will happen now?

You can’t control everything, but you can guess. Well, in the end, let go of control and trust the universe.

4. I want and that’s enough

And that’s actually true, you don’t need any further justification.

5. I don’t have to

Take it as a rule, you don’t owe anyone anything, period.

If you decide to try these simple principles for yourself, you will definitely feel the result. Probably not right away, because you can’t get rid of a bad habit instantly. “There is a time for everything” is not only a dogma, it is the law of nature, and you are part of it.

But it’s very important to realize that taking care of yourself is the best thing you can do. And only then, when you have taken care of your inner world, can you begin to change the outer world. Good luck!
