Dutores da Alegria and the clown training program for young people
Dutores da Alegria is a non-profit civil society organization that proposes art as one of the basic needs for decent human development, as well as food, health, housing and education.
The group introduced the art of the clown in the healthcare universe, intervening with sonsadolescents and other subjects in situations of vulnerability and social risk in public hospitals.
He currently develops the Clown Program in 12 hospitals in São Paulo and Recife. The Dutores da Alegria School offers diversified training for the general public and for artists and, among its initiatives, the Youth Clown Training Program (PFPJ)🇧🇷
The PFPJ is a free artistic and professional training, with a workload of 1,600 hours and a duration of two years. The focus is on the language of the clown, with the aim of widening the access of young people in situations of vulnerability and social risk to the artistic and cultural repertoire and their integration into the world of work.
Launched in 2004, it has already trained more than 280 young people, encouraging them and creating tools to implement social and cultural projects and solutions in the communities where they live, promoting access to quality culture and social transformation.
It currently has 25 students per class, who receive a grant of R$ 630.00 each, to pay for transportation and food, as well as artistic, pedagogical and social support.
How to contribute to this cause?
All of the association’s work is voluntary for hospitals, currently its resources come from corporate donations, sympathetic individuals and through tax incentive laws.
The contribution to this cause allows the continuity of the project, with the expansion of the activities and the group of volunteers, through the training, workshops and technical improvement of the artists.
