How many versions of Barbie We do not know? We’ve already seen collections that honor professions, diversity, and even real-world characters, as is the case with Brazilian biomedical practitioner Jaqueline Goes. And Ceará photographer Gilmar Silva decided to use a pregnant version of the famous doll to produce a maternity photo shoot which drew many sighs on the internet.
The pro shared behind-the-scenes footage of the session on one of his social media accounts. And spoilers: He turned into Ken himself to create the photos!
The digital influencer Maraesa Silva (doll) posed for the photographer’s lens. This is what you read! Maraesa is a Barbie who has gained more than 60,000 followers on social media. It is produced and managed by a friend of Gilmar’s. Precisely for this reason, small photo shoots of important moments in her “his life” were given to her.
“I was happy when I discovered that next to my house there was a person dedicated to this world! Barbara is a childhood friend who lived with her protagonist, Maraesa. She is a digital influencer doll, has several followers and poses for pictures like no one else,” Gilmar wrote in one of his Facebook posts.
The professional started producing portraits individual from the doll. Then he left for the Pre-wedding (photo shoot done before the wedding), up to the long-awaited maternity session. All images of Maraesa are available on Gilmar’s Instagram profiles and on his website.
The essay was inspired by other photo shoots that the photographer already produces with pregnant women. The focus, according to Gilmar, is to ensure that ” they look like they came out of a fairy tale“, with the help of image editing tools.
