The event at Itamaraty Palace presented dishes by chefs from all over the country and awarded typical Brazilian ingredients
After the inauguration ceremony of the new president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), which took place on Sunday (01), he and his wife, Janja, hosted a full dinner for their guests at the Itamaraty Palace, headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign. The menu honored local ingredients, the typical cuisine of our country and was signed by renowned Brazilian chefs.
Among the chefs who have signed the dishes on the menu are Bela Gil, with her famous clitoria flower gin and tonic, Kátia Barbosa, who was already a judge on the reality show “Mestre do Sabor” and offered her famous feijoada cupcake, chef Morena Leite , who took one of her classics, the tapioca churros with vatapá, chef Paulo Machado, who signed the carreteiro rice with egg and PANC (unconventional food plants) and Ieda Matos, who took the pudding of tapioca.
One of the dishes has also attracted attention due to its indigenous origins, it is called Ho’o xanena xupu, which is a mojica (broth) of cassava with fish, made by chef Kalymaracaya Nogueira, a graduate in tourism and gastronomy and a graduate in history and indigenous and Afro-Brazilian culture.
