Among the movies and series premiering in February on Netflix is the first part of the fourth season of “You.”
But his plot takes a very different turn than what we were used to seeing in previous seasons. Suffice it to say, Joe stopped killing (for that, according to the series creator).
In his place, there’s a killer on the loose who, in addition to threatening members of London’s elite, also blackmails Penn Badgley’s character: we explain.

Who Dies in the First Part of ‘You’ Season 4?
Already in London (after rejecting Marianne) Joe Goldberg changes his identity. Now he is Jonathan Moore, a professor of literature at a prestigious British university.
He tries to keep a low profile, but fails. He ends up at a gathering surrounded by rich people after saving his neighbor Kate (Charlotte Ritchie) from a robbery.
The story takes a surprising turn when we see Joe (or Jonathan) apparently kill Kate’s boyfriend Malcolm after a night of drinking.
But we soon learn that Joe, for now, is innocent: someone wants to frame him for the crime and blackmail him. So the protagonist of “You” undertakes to discover the identity of the “murderer of the rich”.
But the criminal strikes again, killing Kate’s close associate Simon Soo (Aidan Chen). As usual, Joe begins to fall in love with his neighbor, for which he decides to protect her and his group of friends, despite the fact that many of them do not like him.
Later, at a gathering away from society, “the killer of the rich” attacks and ends the life of Gemma (Eve Austin), one of Kate’s tutoring friends.
That’s when Joe teams up with his neighbor, ending up face-to-face with his prime suspect, Roald (Ben Wiggins).
Who Is The ‘Rich Killer’ In ‘You’ Season 4 Part 1?
Joe and Roald face each other in the woods, but when they both find themselves weak in the middle of their fight, a third person arrives with them.
This is Rhys Montrose (Ed Speelers) and it is revealed that he is the “killer of the rich”. From the beginning of the series he was introduced as a member of London’s elite, but he slowly explained to Joe the motivations behind his actions.
It turns out that Rhys has a lot of class resentment towards his peers, because unlike them, he was born into poverty and slowly integrated into the elite. He hates their boasting and spoiled behavior, so he decides to kill them to finish them off gradually.
He locks Joe and Roald in the basement of Lady Phoebe’s (Tilly Keeper) home, and since he knows the “You” star’s criminal record, he hopes he’ll help him take out Kate’s rich friends.
Joe tries to make him believe it will, but Reese doesn’t believe him and sets the place on fire. However, Joe and Roald find a way to escape.
Joe finally decides to leave Kate for good, and that’s when he hears Rhys on TV announcing his candidacy for mayor of London.
The second part of ‘You’ season 4 should solve some questions, such as what will happen to the “killer of the rich” and whether Joe will be able to finish off his new and dangerous enemy.
