‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’: MODOK’s debut at the UCM has been planned for years

“He’s a very strange character, to say the least.”

‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’one of the most anticipated movies of 2023, hits theaters he February 17thand the first reactions to ‘Ant-Man 3’ are very positive.

will introduce us to an unprecedented villain: MODOK -u ‘Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing’-, one of the most unusual creatures in the franchise and, sure, a worthy ally for Jonathan Majors’ Kang (if you’re wondering who Kang the Conqueror is, we recommend you don’t stop watching his first appearance in ‘Loky’, one of the best Marvel series on Disney+). The point is that bringing the evil bighead to the screen has been a dream for quite some time.

Director Peyton Reed explained to ‘Digital Spy’: “For me, it was a personal emotion. He was a kid who spent much of his childhood alone in a room reading Marvel comics.”

“MODOK was always an insane character. And he’s grotesque. He’s a giant head turned into a mechanized organism designed only to kill. That was intriguing.”

“So We started talking about whether there would be a place in the MCUin the ‘Ant-Man’ movies, for a live action version of MODOK. What would it be like and how would we do it?”

Producer Stephen Broussard added: “He’s a very strange character, to put it mildly. He’s been kind of a big threat in our imagination of how to do it and if we could pull it off.”

It has always seemed like a challenge to us, for years, here at Marvel. And we came up with an idea. And we thought we had an idea that we were excited about. And I don’t want to say too much, but I think the time was right to finally bring MODOK to the big screen.”
