Though his future once seemed to hang in the balance given the revolving door of the filmmakers involved, the new brooms coming to the DC universe of film and television, and the many problems caused by the director’s off-screen behavior. Miller, the flash continues to hit our theaters this year. Even the first full trailer questions a future, even if this time it’s part of the plot. Look…

Released with all the hype you’d expect from a Super Bowl trailer, the film’s new look further describes the story. Still haunted by his mother’s murder, Barry Allen (Miller) uses his superpowers to travel through time and change events in the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry is trapped in a reality where General Zod (Michael Shannon) has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no superheroes to turn to.

That is, unless Barry can bring a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian…even if that’s not what he’s after. In the end, to save the world he’s in and return to the future he knows, Barry’s only hope is to run for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to revive the universe?

The “Batman”, of course, is Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne (we can also expect to see Ben Affleck’s Wayne, but probably less in Bat mode). And this Kryptonian? That would be Sasha Calle as Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl.

With Ron Livingston inheriting the role of Barry’s father Henry, Kiersey Clemons returns as Iris West and Andy Muschietti to direct, the flash It will be in theaters on June 16.
