Documentary film research consists of four series about the creative and personal path of the famous artist. For the first time, viewers will visit with Aidan her house, workshop and the famous marble quarry in Carrara, Italy.
The main character of the project will sincerely and frankly tell about the victory over cancer, professional successes and failures, about the difficult transition from modern painting to marble sculpture; will tell about his relationships with parents, lovers, colleagues, friends and ill-wishers.
Important figures of Russian art will share their memories and stories related to Aidan Salakhova: ex-general director of the State Tretyakov Gallery Zelfira Tregulova; Sophia Trotsenko, President of the Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art Foundation; Rector of the Moscow State Academic Art Institute V. I. Surikov, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Anatoly Lyubavin; artist and sculptor Patti Nicoli; art historian, editor-in-chief of the ArtGuide portal Maria Kravtsova; artist, gallery owner and film director Yevgeny Mitta; artist Alexandra Vertinskaya; Director of the XL Gallery Elena Selina. TV presenter Andrei Malakhov and the author of the project, producer and collector Alexei Bokov, also took part in the project.

“Aidan.doc” is not only a biography, but also a subjective psychologized assessment of Aidan Salakhova herself and her surroundings. While friends and colleagues are analyzing the life and work of Aidan, she, in turn, gives a life assessment of herself, her creative path and the events that influenced the course of the history of contemporary art in Russia.
“Aidan Salakhova is an outstanding artist who is currently working in sculpture. In three-dimensional volume, she creates strong, deep, high-quality works of art. Moreover, she thinks both in terms of fine art and outside of it — which is surprising when we talk about working in stone,” Zelfira Tregulova, ex-general director of the State Tretyakov Gallery.

“An important distinguishing quality of Aidan is that she doesn’t care what people say about her. She is an honest, strong, cheerful, independent person. All her life she neglects formalities and outdated prejudices,” Alexei Bokov, producer, collector.
“Aidan knows how to create his own artistic space, knows how to use loneliness as a professional part of an artist’s life. Her place, her space and her time are the three components of the success of her work,” Patti Nicoli, sculptor.

“Keeping the traditions of classical education, Aidan helps his students find a modern conceptual form of expressing their thoughts that meets the needs of our time. When you enter her workshop at the Surikov Institute, you find yourself in an atmosphere permeated with art,” Anatoly Lyubavin, Rector of the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after M.V. Surikov, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation.
