As if they were ‘Ghostbusters’, the protagonists of the new adaptation of ‘Super Mario Bros.’ They advertise offering their services at home.

    There was a time when adapting a video game to the cinema was synonymous with failure. Nowadays, after the successes of ‘Detective Pikachu’, ‘Uncharted’, ‘Sonic’ and ‘The Last of Us’, everything seems like a bad bump. And the next ‘Super Mario Bros’ doesn’t seem to be the one to end this trend, with impressive visuals and a tremendous vocal cast led by Chris Pratt.

    The advertising campaign is taking care of raising the hype up to levels of the best video game movies, and everyone seems to be excited about seeing Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Princess Peach. Even the protagonist of ‘The Last of Us’ Pedro Pascal has become Mario in a curious version of the trailer for ‘Super Mario Bros’.

    With the pull of the Super Bowl 2023, ‘Illumination’, the production company responsible for ‘Los Minions’ has launched a fun spots in the form of an advertisement Mario and Luigi offer their services as plumbersrecovering the mythical rap from the animated series ‘The Super Mario Bros Show’ from 1989.

    To accompany the announcement, it has been enabled a Web page (smbplumbing.com) in which the ‘Mario Bros’ publish the opinions of their customers and they even offer a job board to join them in their work.

    The most famous plumber in popular culture is one of the most important icons in the history of video games and the visible face of Nintendo, one of the leading companies in the sector. However, the first attempt to translate it to the big screen in 1993 was a disaster of epic proportions.

    In this new version, Mario is transported to the Mushroom Kingdom as Bowser and his armies set out to take control of the colorful world, leaving the plumber as the only person capable of stopping him.

    ‘Super Mario Bros’ opens in theaters next March 31, 2023.
