Moving on to Arte this Monday night, The Talented Mr Ripley sees Matt Damon take on the mantle of the famous dandy Tom Ripley. A troubled character portrayed by Patricia Highsmith, previously played by other actors.

Tom Ripley, the anti-hero of many literary adventures, was first played on the screen by Alain Delon in RenĂ© Clement’s Plein soleil, which was released in cinemas in 1960.
