A scene from “I am Betty, the ugly one” made Natalia Ramirez (Marcela Valencia) sick

The actress, now 55, uses her YouTube channel to share little-known details about her work with television receivers.

So last November she revealed that just a 25-second scene from I’m Ugly Betty left her “incapacitated” for three days.

As she recalled, the joke dates back to when “Mars” was trying to convince Armando to stay home with her instead of attending a fashion show.

She uses reverse psychology to convince him, so he tells him that he can go to his engagement, but she will stay at home taking a bath with a glass of wine in hand.

Finally, her fiancé decides to accompany her to an intimate moment.

Although Marcela Valencia’s character got what she wanted, in real life, Natalia Ramírez didn’t have a good time recording that moment.

“The reality is that the heater in the house where we were recording was broken, so there was no hot water in the apartment, so we had to fill the bathtub with cold water,” the actress said.

Added to the cold temperatures of the bathtub was the climate of the city of Bogotá itself, which, as the star of “I am Betty, the ugly one” explains, is between 13 and 18 degrees Celsius (55 or 64 degrees Fahrenheit). ).

As if that weren’t enough, the production of the soap opera had to use dish soap to create the foam in the fictional bath. This product, according to the interpreter, “leaves your hands very dry because it has so many chemicals.”

When it was time to touch the water in the bathtub, Natalia Ramírez let out a cry about how cold it was. What made it even worse was that “I couldn’t get in quickly because then my hair would get wet.”

In the telenovela, Don Armando tells Marce “I hope the water is hot, because if not, you’ll have to take care of me all weekend.”

According to the actress behind her fiancee, this line was not in the script, but was born as an inside joke among the cast, as a joke because of the cold temperatures she had to endure.

This simple scene was enough to make Natalia Ramírez sick for three days straight. And it is that, he assured, he is “allergic” to the cold.

“It was like my nose swelled up like that (swollen) and my eyes like that (swollen), I was shaking, I couldn’t take it anymore. A horrible, horrible thing. (…) Those 25 seconds (that the scene lasted) cost me 3 days of impotence.”
