On Thursday, February 16, it all starts here…
Salome has to make concessions
Anais comes to the dressing room to show her joy and pride to Salome. She tells him she will have to go to Paris to refine the menu with Faye’s teams. He can’t believe his project is being done so quickly. She then tells him that she spent the night with Gathen, but after breaking up with Thomas, she is not ready to start a new relationship. Especially since he will have to fully invest himself in the future franchise.
Salome meets Faye at her studio to discuss her project. He asks her to design his menu with a few adjustments to respect the economic constraints. For example, for her dish, she should use beef tenderloin instead of veal shank, or a mix of mushrooms and shallots instead of mushrooms and frozen produce. Fayette says this is the only solution to ensure that the franchise is competitive enough and that each restaurant can maintain a fixed price across France.
So Salome distributes this new recipe to her master’s crew to serve the dish at the end of the afternoon. Meanwhile, Charlene arrives to retrieve the briefcase. Salome wants to come clean with him by admitting that she didn’t tell Fayette and Latour. Charlene replies that she knows it’s Louie.
Later, Salome meets Gaitan as he rushes off. He immediately offers to help, but she refuses. When he’s about to leave her alone, she stops him to explain that she loved their night together, but she doesn’t feel ready for a new relationship and, above all else, she needs to stay focused on her next project. Gaitan is very helpful. They move closer, about to kiss, until Gaitan leaves and wishes Salome the best.
At the Economat, Salome takes the opportunity to talk to Kelly. The latter is very angry with her father for the damage he caused her and does not intend to talk to him in the near future. Salome thinks that she should give him a chance because, despite everything, she knows that Thomas cares for his daughter.
Back in the workshop, Salome checks her ingredients with the members of her brigade. All confirm that the result is much less famous than its original recipe. Salome realizes this and hesitates to stop everything. He continues to work alone when Teissier comes to see him. He offers to give her his opinion, which she accepts. The director confirms that he can do better. Salome admits that her recipe is completely distorted. Teissier encourages him to ask himself the right questions. Salome admits that she wants to be the master of her project, prepare her own recipes with new products and surprise customers.
During a tasting in front of Fayette and his team of chefs, Salome presents the first plate that pays homage to the new recipe. Everyone is sure. Salome then presents them with another version of the same recipe. All point to a qualitative difference between the two. Salome wants to prove to them that it is better to serve a quality dish, but a little more expensive, than to disappoint customers.
Disgruntled, Faye takes Salome to her side. The young woman then expresses her desire to take back her project and return to her main menu with new products that she wants. If this is not possible, he prefers to give his place to another chef. Faye makes it clear to him that she is the one who makes the decisions and so he will have to follow her orders if he doesn’t want to get into trouble…
Tom worries about Bill’s health
In Guinot’s class, Vicky and Samia ask Billy about his relationship with Solal. The latter believes that the chapter is closed because nothing more happened between them. She claims to be very lonely. On the other hand, he admits that he has not been feeling well since morning and begins to scratch his neck, where he has several rashes. Concerned, Samia and Vicky research the internet and suspect he has chicken pox. Billy confirms that he didn’t have it as a child, as Samia does. The girls tell the teacher, who immediately sends Billy to the hospital.
Later, Samia spots Tom at the exit and asks his destination. He explains that he has an interview very early the next morning with a chef at a Cannes restaurant for an internship there, and that he plans to spend the night. Since he won’t be there in the morning, he won’t be able to pair up with Samia in Guino’s class. So Samia plans to join Billy’s partner because it won’t be the last. Facing questions from Tom, Samia tells him that Billy has chicken pox and that he needs to stay in quarantine for at least a week. She would have to stay alone, locked in their room, so as not to contaminate Samia as well. Tom is shown to be deeply affected by Bill’s fate.
Instead of taking the train, Tom visits Bill in his room and offers to spend the evening with him to clear his mind. He is not terribly worried about chicken pox. He even plans to spend the night in Samia’s bed. Billy makes it clear to her that they are not going to sleep together because he is not in good shape. Tom doesn’t see the awkwardness and instead suggests they watch a good TV show together. Bill is delighted.
Ethan confronts his mother
In the courtyard of the institute, Ethan is drinking coffee with his mother, who has arrived before the taste festival to observe the students and choose another. It also makes the child realize that there is a good chance that he will choose it. But Ethan responds to her with some coldness and complains about her competitive spirit. Once alone, Ethan is finally joined by Samia, who he admits he didn’t dare tell his mother that he didn’t want to work with. His girlfriend encourages him to make a move.
In the classroom, Teissier pressures the students to make the dough. He is unhappy with their work, except for Ethan, who can move on to the next level. At the same time, Cardone arrives to observe the students. He immediately compliments Deva, then criticizes his son, accusing him of being backward and lacking technique. Teysier steps in to kick him out so he doesn’t affect Ethan.
The latter finds his mother in the park after class. He admits that he is disappointed with her current level because he really wants to reunite with her. Ethan then states that it’s none of his business because he will never be good enough for her. He adds that he prefers to be Teissier’s second. Annabelle replies that she’s going to take Deva a second time and she better not regret her decision because she won’t give him a second chance.
Relieved, Ethan finds Samia and Axel drinking. They both congratulate her for finally having the courage to talk to her mother. Ethan admits that this is the first time he’s been so direct with her. From now on, he wants to concentrate on re-electing Teissier. Axel warns that this is his business too, and he’s not going to give her a gift, even if they’re friends. Ethan is up for the challenge.
