Drama 2 Hearts is currently the second most watched movie on the Netflix platform in France this week. Discover the true story that inspired the film, but at the risk of spoiling all the surprises.
Chris (Jacob Ellord, Nate in Euphoria and Noah in the Kissing Booth) meets Sam (Tierra Skovby, seen in Once Upon a Time and Riverdale ) and things go well between the two students. At the same time, businessman Jorge meets air hostess Leslie and they fall in love.
The couple’s happiness is overshadowed when Jorge’s harmless cough worsens and Chris suddenly leaves without explanation.
True Story (Warning, Major Spoilers)
2 Hearts is inspired by the true story of Jorge Bacardi, heir to the owners of the rum brand Bacardi. Misdiagnosed with cystic fibrosis, he was eventually found to have primary ciliary dyskinesia (an upper airway disease).
Only thanks to the two lung transplants of the man from the movie “Chris”, Christopher Mark Gregory, he was able to survive until the age of 76. Therefore, the film’s student and businessman characters have a connection that is revealed only in the last third of the feature film, which surprises the audience and immediately evokes emotions.
2 Hearts was originally scheduled to be released on September 11, 2020, but the Covid-19 pandemic caused theaters to close. The film was therefore pushed back to October 2020, but on September 23, 2020, Jorge Bacardi died before attending the release of the film inspired by his life.
