‘Duster’ will be an 8-episode period drama starring Josh Holloway and Rachel Hilson on HBO Max
JJ Abrams (‘Star Trek’, ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’) and LaToya Morgan (‘Into de Badlands’, ‘The Walking Dead’) will be the showrunners of the next HBO series ‘Duster’a period drama set in the American Southwest starring Josh Holloway (‘Lost’,’Yellowstone’) and rachel hilson (‘This is Us’).
‘Duster’ has been hanging around in television limbo since April 2020, when it got the green light from then-HBO Max content director Kevin Reilly, but was put on hold.
The 8 episodes of ‘Duster’ will star Rachel Hilson as Nina, the first black FBI agent who, in 1972, travels to the southwest of the United States and teams up with a driver specialized in escapes and persecutions, played by Josh Holloway. Together, the duo aims to take down a crime syndicate that is taking root in the area.
Keith David, Sydney Elisabeth, Greg Grunberg, Camille Guaty, Asivak Koostachin, Adriana Aluna Martinez, and Benjamin Charles Watson complete the cast.
“’Duster’ is an amalgamation of all my favorite things: high-octane storytelling with deep characters and a lot of heart. It’s a dream project and I’m extremely grateful to everyone at Warner Bros. and HBO Max for believing in this show. And I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in crime than JJ to build this amazing world on.” Morgan has stated.
According to Sarah AubreyHBO Max’s head of original content, ‘Duster’ is sure to excite subscribers to the platform with a “Intriguing storytelling, fantastic characters and truly spectacular car chases“.
At the moment there is no confirmed date for the premiere of the pilot of the series.
