“I have more fun making video games and animation”: Meeting Professor Layton’s French Voice

His voice reached an entire generation of gamers and puzzle lovers. After six games and a movie released between 2007 and 2013, Martial Le Minoux will soon return to take on one of the most iconic characters in video games: Professor Herschel Layton.

Announced in February 2023 during this month’s Nintendo Direct via a teaser, a new game called “Professor Layton and the New World of Steam” is indeed in development, ten years after the famous archaeologist’s last appearance.

For this occasion, Voix Ouf met the great actor Martial Le Minoux. With an impressive range of playing and the ability to modulate his voice as he sees fit, he is known for more than just his work on Layton. He talks to us about his other iconic voice acting roles, from Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist to Clank in Ratchet & Clank, Justin Hartley in Smallville and his love of creating voice with Lastman!

And as usual, our guest will receive two challenges: our quiz on his various voxography roles, as well as our Darbok and his popular lines!

While waiting to find him on Professor Layton when the game comes out, he can be heard in the French animated film Mars Express, written by Jeremy Perrin and Laurent Sarfat, which is due to hit our cinemas in 2023.

And as Richard Aldana would say, “Hello Cordoba!”

Voix Ouf is produced and hosted by Vincent Formica
