Spider-Man: The New Spider-Verse Characters Revealed by Toys

Although the two words start with the same letter, secrecy and commerce don’t necessarily mix in Hollywood. Because we’re no longer counting the number of movies that saw toys reveal elements that they wanted to keep secret for as long as possible.

Here’s how Lego boxes can set blockbuster scenes. One of the twists in Star Wars Episode VII was spoiled by a puzzle. Or that the Funko Pop figures give us a prominent character that isn’t, or almost is, from the promo months before the movie comes out. Just like today, Spider-Man: Along the Spider-Verse.

Expected to hit our theaters on May 31st, The Amazing Spider-Man: The Next Generation has only offered audiences a teaser and a trailer so far. And the latest images suggested that the feature film still had a lot of cards up its sleeve (the visual style of the different parallel worlds it visits in particular). Even if we could see some of the many characters in the film, these figures would show us more closely.

Thus, the first image includes several variants, which are Spider-Man India (twice today), Spider-Punk, Spider-Byte (created in 2018), Scarlet Spider and Spider-Woman. The second (top right) shows Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy in and out of costume, as well as a transparent Spider-Man.

The third highlights the villains of the story: two versions of Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099 (voiced by Oscar Isaac). La Tache, seen in a picture posted at the recent Annecy festival. and the intriguing medieval Vulture. Not forgetting the great Miles Morales, who will also be on sale.

Five years after the Oscar-winning Next Generation story, where he was given alternate universe options, Miles finds himself projected into the multiverse (or the Spider-Verse), which he must protect with a group of vigilantes. A time of adventure that will challenge his vision of heroism. And that promises a lot, even if the previous opus set the bar too high.
