The head of the clan is a seemingly ordinary pensioner Svyatoslav Vernidubovich (Yuri Stoyanov). Therefore, it is not surprising that in our time, the project’s showrunner Alan Ball made an entire series exploiting the idea of u200bu200bvampire sexuality.
A distant future, scientists have invented artificial blood, so ghouls no longer need to play cat and mouse with victims, they assimilate among humans. Integration goes with varying degrees of success: bloodsuckers twist novels, throw parties, which sometimes turn into orgies. And they are also fighting for their rights and even looking for a maniac. There are many heroes in the project, but the brightest is the handsome Eric, played by Alexander Skarsgård. Just find a frame from the series where he is relaxing with a book in the snow. Beware, it’s very hot!
Creepiest: “Let Me In”, 2008, 2010, 2022
When vampires meet Scandinavian noir, it’s original and very scary! “Let Me In” has several versions, and it would be necessary to understand them. First came the book by the Swedish writer Jun Aivide Lindqvist. Then, at home, they made a film based on it, which suddenly turned into a real cult among horror fans around the world. Two years later, an American remake with Chloe Moretz was released, and in 2022 there was also a TV series. The plot in all projects is approximately the same, but it is better to refer to the original.
The main characters are the outcast boy Oscar (Kore Hedebrant) and his new neighbor, the lonely girl Eli (Lina Leandersson). A schoolboy is tormented by classmates, his girlfriend is tormented by bloodlust. There is a uniform horror going on around the children, but they manage to maintain their friendship, no matter what. Yes, even the desire to drink Oscar, as they say, to the bottom, is not able to destroy it!
Funniest: “What are we doing in the shadows”, 2019 – present
After the whole world was tearing their stomachs over Taika Waititi’s comedy “Real Ghouls”, the director turned his idea into a series. And it also became insanely popular. Before us are again vampires, forced to live together for hundreds of years, and, of course, terribly bored with each other.
The Middle Eastern ghoul Nandor (Kaivan Novak) cannot forget that he was once a warrior of the Ottoman Empire, and now he only fights negligent cashiers in a supermarket. Laszlo (Matt Berry) is an English nobleman, aristocratic and refined, as far as the conditions of modern New York allow. His wife Nadia (Natasha Demetriou) has been following her former lover for several centuries. And there is also a great original Colin (Mark Proksch) – an energy vampire who sucks not blood, but mood, ending those around him with various antics and tediousness. Together, this honest company is trying to adapt to modern realities. But, to be honest, in four seasons, she never did it.
Most Romantic: Twilight, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012
Even vampire stories can be spiced with vanilla, sprinkled with powdered sugar and drizzled with chocolate sauce. If anything, the genius of writer Stephenie Meyer is precisely that she took a classic rom-com-perfect teenage love story, but wrapped it in a wrapper full of ghouls, werewolves and their buddies.
The plot of “Twilight” is known. Simple high school student Bella (Kristen Stewart) moves from her mother to father (the girl’s parents are divorced) and goes to a new school, where she meets a simple high school student Edward (Robert Pattinson). The guy turns out to be a vampire, and for four feature films the couple tries to be together, but something or someone interferes with them all the time. It’s hard to take Twilight seriously, but what to hide, these films, and especially the first one, will pass for a “forbidden pleasure” and the perfect medicine for an evening when you came exhausted after work, the weather is disgusting outside, and you want to treat yourself to something something beloved, kind and eternal.
