According to what they have seen in MCU phase 4, Marvel characters, including the more powerful Avengers, have an alternative or variant version in the various universes.
Thanks to them, fans saw the return to life of several of their favorite characters and some others who never thought they would be in the MCU. Next, discover the most important characters that had a variation on Marvel movies or series.
Loki
The god of lies won the hearts of fans, even though he started his story at MCU as a villain. After a journey of self-discovery, Thor’s brother managed to find his true path, but unfortunately died at the hands of Thanos in ‘Avengers Infinity War’.
Fortunately for his fans, Loki is back thanks to his variant, which was recorded by TVA after intervening in the Avengers timeline.
Loki also has Sylvie, the female version of him who is guilty of the death of He Who Remains and whom he fell in love with.
Spiderman
In “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, Peter Parker caused the Doctor Strange mistake that caused the multiverse to break. This catastrophic event enabled bad guys from other universes to reach the main reality of the MCU.
Fortunately, Peter Parker was not alone in his most important battle, as two of his variations came to his aid. These two variants were not only physically different from him, but also had other abilities, such as the ability to create organic tissue in their wrists.
Captain America
When the Avengers went back in time to retrieve the Infinity Stones in “Avengers: Endgame”, Captain America not only encountered a variation of himself, but also fought against it. In the end, the original Captain America used his increased experience and knowledge to win the match.
Doctor Strange
The former Sorcerer Supreme has several alternatives to the MCU, one animation that appeared in “What If” and others that were shown in his second film.
The cartoon caused the destruction of her world due to her attempt to prevent the death of her beloved, while the other versions caused chaos thanks to the use of Darkhold to try to prevent a multifaceted crisis.
One of them tried to help America Chavez, while another used the powers of the cursed book to confront Thanos, so the Illuminati stopped him before it was too late.
Wanda Maximoff
The woman now known as Scarlet Witch is in complete control of reality, but like all other Marvel characters, she has her variations on the multiverse and one of them was used to chase America Chavez and Doctor Strange into the 883 universe. .
Thanks to this variation, Wanda was able to see her children again, but she also discovered the real damage she had done with her selfish acts.
Captain Carter
The “What If” series featured several alternative versions of the heroes, such as T’Challa Starlord, Thor partying or Black Widow, but one of the most interesting was Captain Carter.
In fact, Peggy Carter received the serial Super Soldier instead of Steve Rogers, becoming the first female superhero in the world.
There is no certainty, but it is possible that Captain Carter featured in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is a variation of the animated version.
Captain Marvel
In “Captain Marvel”, Maria Rambo, Carol Danvers’ best friend, who died at some point during the conflict due to illness, made her first appearance.
Maria returned to the MCU, but now as Captain Marvel, in the universe of 883, as a member of the Illuminati in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”.
Blackagar Boltagon
The King of Inhumans, better known as Black Bolt, appeared in the new Doctor Strange movie as one of the Illuminati.
After the failure of his series, it was not clear if he and the Inhumans were the norm at MCU, but after his appearance on “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, doubts were dispelled.
The movie version of Black Bolt seems more inspired by the comics than the series, a positive change in character.
Mordo
Stephen Strange’s enemy appeared in “Doctor Strange 2”, but as the Sorcerer Supreme of the Illuminati universe.
Like the 616 variant of the universe (the master of the MCU), Mordo seems to have unresolved conflicts with Steven, so he decided to bring him before his comrades to be tried for his alleged crimes against the multiverse.
Reed Richards and Charles Xavier
These two characters have been the protagonists in several movies in other Marvel universes, but their presence in “Doctor Strange 2” leaves great chances open for the MCU.
It is not yet known how the X-Men will appear on the MCU, but there is already confirmation of a Fantastic Four movie, so John Krasinski could return as Mr. Fantastic / Reed Richards in the near future.
