As a further measure of support for the victims of heavy rains on the north coast, Palmeiras have used proceeds from sales of coach Abel Ferreira’s personalized T-shirts to donate 449 food baskets.
“The club and I will be offering the recipes for the personalized shirt last year. I hadn’t found the right moment to do it (the solidarity action) and now is the moment. Here and now. For the people who really need it and we will help each other,” said the coach in a video posted on the club’s social media profile.

This was not the first solidarity action by Palmeiras in favor of the victims of the rains on the north coast. Last week, the club collected around three tons of donations, including food, clothing and hygiene products. VerdĂŁo collected the objects at the entrance gates of the Allianz Parque, in the duel against Red Bull Bragantino.
The same happened in Sunday’s matches, against Real Ariquemes, for the Brazilian women, and against Ferroviária, for the Paulista championship. Donations received in these matches are still being counted.
These were not the only solidarity actions Palmeiras has promoted this year. Previously, the club similarly collected food for the indigenous Yanomami people, who are experiencing a major health crisis in Roraima.
