‘Mrs. Davis’: First trailer for the new sci-fi series from the creator of ‘Lost’

Betty Gilpin (‘GLOW’) is a nun who will fight against an Artificial Intelligence in Damon Lindelof’s new series, ‘Mrs. Davis’.

Damon Lindeloffcreator of several of the best series in history such as ‘Lost’, ‘The Leftovers’ and ‘Watchmen’, has a new project in hand with one of the writers of ‘The Big Bang Theory’, Tara Hernandez. The new science fiction series is titled ‘Mrs. Davis’and will tell us the fight of a nun against Artificial Intelligence (Ms. Davis of the title) who wants to seize the will of humanity.

betty gilpin (‘GLOW’, ‘The Hunt’) will star in the series, a nun named Simone who will stop at nothing to destroy Artificial Intelligence before it causes a global collapse. If we look at the first glimpse today, it seems that Simone will be alone in her mission, since the rest of the planet is completely mesmerized and infatuated with the AI personality. It’s unclear how Ms. Davis plans to wipe out humanity, but it appears that subscribers to her new cult will be sent on “Quests” to earn her “Wings.” Whatever that means.

The first trailer, which looks like an ad for some Facebook- or Apple-style tech megacorporation, with people around the world who are passed an earpiece by strangers say “she wants to talk to you”. The biggest sci-fi element of the trailer, though, is that everyone agrees instead of saying “no thanks” and running.

Together with Gilpin they will be Jake McDorman and Andy McQueen as protagonists, in addition to david arquette (the ‘Scream’ franchise), Margo Martindale, Ben Chaplin, Elizabeth Marvel, Chris Diamantopoulos, Katja Herbers, Mathilde Ollivier, Ashley Romans and Tom Wlaschiha (‘Game of Thrones’).

Hernández and Lindelof will be executive producers along with the directors Owen Harris (‘Black Mirror: San Junipero’) and Alethea Jones (‘Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies’).

‘Mrs. Davis’ will be released next April 20 at Peacock in the US, so it is normal for it to reach Spain within the new SkyShowtime platform.
