Glastonbury 2023: Arctic Monkeys, Elton John and Guns N’ Roses confirmed at the festival

The event which takes place outdoors in England will start on June 21st; see other expected names

EFE – The British group Arctic monkeys and the American gang Armas and Rosas will headline the music festival of Glastonburyannounced the organization this Friday, 3.

Both lineups will join the veteran singer-songwriter Elton Johnwho will be playing the last UK show of their farewell tour at Worthy Farm which kicks off in June.

Other artists set to perform at this iconic music event include Manic Street Preachers, Christine And The Queens, Fatboy Slim, Wool Del ReyLewis Capaldi, Lil Nas X, Loyle Carner, Maneskin, Rudimental, Slowthai, Thundercat or Young Fathers.

Elton John’s performance will likely be the most notable at this Glastonbury edition, as it closes six decades of live performances by the English artist.

“It’s really important for us to be able to have him at the end of his tour. And he really wants to be there. He’s been telling us a lot of brilliant (acting) ideas over the phone,” festival organizer Emily Eavis told the BBC. .

Another highly anticipated show will be that of Yusuf/Cat Stevens, who will be in the so-called “Legend slot”, on Sunday afternoon on the Pyramid stage, followed by Blondie.

According to the aforementioned British public channel, rumors continue that Roxy Music will also play in this edition.

Taking place outdoors in Somerset (South West England), the festival kicks off on 21 June and there are still plenty of bands to announce.

Tickets for Glastonbury sold out in just 61 minutes after going on sale last November, despite the £340 (€384) price tag. Tickets canceled and returned will go on sale in late March or early April.

Eavis also pointed out that with the end of the pandemic, which forced the event to be suspended, “there was a fabulous energy and people just acted differently. They wanted to be in everything and you felt the love and the joy”.

“I think Glastonbury continues to be a beacon of hope and love and all that positive stuff,” she added.
