This was the strange experience of Riley Kenough filming a sex scene with her husband

“I have never pretended to have sex with my husband.”

The actress of ‘Everybody Loves Daisy Jones’, Riley Keough, had a very particular experienceafter what her husband was selected to play one of her sexual partners in the series.

The Prime Video adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel of the same name is inspired by the iconic band of the 70s, Fleetwood Mac, and it’s all sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll (as you’d expect).

Keough explained in Late Night With Seth Myers that from the production company they had thought that it would be less strange if they hired her husband, instead of another actor, but the actress recognized that it had been even worse.

I think they thought it would be less weird, but when we got to the set, we were like, ‘This is so awkward.’ because, first, I had never pretended to have sex with my husband,“said the actress.

“And second, Normally, when you do these things, it’s with someone who comes for a single day. You say, ‘Hi, nice to meet you,’ and get down to business. He is very professional. With him, it was a joke all the time.

Later, the actress shared the comparisons that had arisen with her real sexual life.

In the scene, I’m not enjoying. I kept feeling like ‘in real life this is not so!’ And then I thought: ‘Well, I better shut up and let it be.’

When the author of the novel saw a video of Fleetwood Mac performing her 1975 hit ‘Landslide’, she found the inspiration for these characters.

lindsey [Buckingham] stopped playing for a moment and Stevie [Nicks] he let her fly while he watched her from the band,” wrote the author for Hello Sunshine.

“For a fraction of a second – really, just an instant – Lindsey cupped her hand under her chin and looked at Stevie as if he were a miracle. Then, I thought, ‘Wow… They’re really in love.'”

‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ is available at streaming on Prime Video.
